7 p.m. in the Gymnasium

During the Eighth Grade Graduation ceremonies, a Citizenship Award from Kansas State High School Activities Association is presented to one eighth grade girl and boy. The valedictorian and salutatorian are announced and awarded their medals. They each then give a short presentation to their classmates.

A main address is given by a speaker chosen by the class. The speaker is usually a member of the faculty, staff, alumni or community. Finally, the eighth graders receive their certificates of promotion.
