Puls Elementary Academics

Puls Elementary provides strong academic instruction in all the core areas with emphasis placed on a comprehensive reading program that includes phonemic awareness and systematic, explicit phonics instruction, decoding rules, syllabication, prefix & suffix rules, vocabulary instruction, and comprehension instruction. The elementary also uses a manipulative-based math program that encourages problem solving and builds the understanding of fundamental concepts from concrete manipulatives to pictorial representations to abstract symbols.

Current assessments include the Kansas Assessments, Curriculum Based Measurements, Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills, CompassLearning Odyssey, Accelerated Reader, STAR testing, and student performance portfolios.
