Leadership Conference

Every year, the Attica High School students take part of a leadership conference presented by the Leadership Class from Southwestern College in Winfield that is sponsored by Attica High School and the Attica Chapter of National Honor Society.

This year, the main theme was to inform AHS students the difference from being a high school student and being a college student.  During this time the college students told stories about their greatest challenges about going to college and their new responsibilities of college life.  The Southwestern College students led the AHS High School in three activities about leadership and how to build leadership skills.

The first activity was about leadership traits and what they look like.  AHS students were to draw what the leadership traits looked like from a third grade view and by an adult view.  The second activity was a group building activity where the students were asked to number off to find out how many were in the group.  They had to number themselves while standing by each other until they got to the number 38. The final activity was a human checker game.  The students were given the instructions and then they had to play the game, while working together in order to make the best possible decisions.
